Fernet is an Italian aromatic spirit. It is made from a number of herbs and spices including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe, and especially saffron.
Fernet base is from grape distilled spirits. It has a dark caramel color and a bitter taste. It is recommended as a digestive served at room temperature or with ice cubes.
